The Tale of The Apron

A short time ago in a galaxy next door...

I was having a bad day and couldn't find the motivation to do ANYTHING, I needed to clean the kitchen, put away laundry and work on a sewing project, I could not push past my apathy to find my motivation. A friend suggested that I look for my motivation in my favorite shoes, because that is often where she found hers. So I did and then I looked for it where I kept my pearls and then I found it a little while later with my favorite lip stick.
The kitchen got cleaned in style that day, I wore my favorite heels and my pearls and the lipstick too, but that was all. It was from this event that the idea for an apron was born.

I had also recently gotten a vintage pattern for aprons that were really cute and now I had a reason to use it. I found some really great fabric in my mom's fabric stash and thus the apron was made.

It's not terribly flattering over the big sweater, but I love the way it looks when I'm in a regular shirt and the pattern is busy enough that if (when) I get stuff on it it doesn't show stains unless they are epic stains.

It's also kind of funny that the frog is in various stages of undress since I often cook or bake in various stages of undress because I'm kind of adverse to clothes in general (this is why I like summer in TX when you can wear very little clothing) so the fabric is perfect for me.

A short post today, there will be a much longer one on Sunday; I have a tutorial for you all!
So until Sunday my dearies, craft on.
