Tedious things are good for you... no really...

I know, I know, I said I'd post yesterday, but I didn't have access to my computer all day and when all of my pictures are on my computer I can't very well post anything now can I?

so there :-p

Anywho, a short one for you today. I thought I'd show you the work apron I made while in St. Louis, the tedious 3 and a half hour project that kept me sane after a hard day at work (it makes sense, really it does)
Once upon a time a long time ago, my mom bought me this pirate patterned fabric, thinking I'd like it (and she was correct) problem was, she bought 1 yard... What can you do with 1 yard? So I saved it and came up with a few ideas here and there and usually needed about a yard and a half or worse yet, a yard and a quarter. So it stayed in my fabric stash, so sad, so lonely, until I decided to take it with me to OTSL, thinking maybe I'd turn it into a tool bag for all my sewing stuff.
Once there and looking at all the tools I had acquired I decided buying a bag (that I didn't have to figure out how to make myself) would be better. And so, once again, the pirate fabric was put back in the stash.
I soon began to need more room than my current work apron had and came up with the brilliant idea of making a new one! 1 yard of fabric is perfect for just such a venture. I decided on the size and designed the pockets to be the right size and shape for everything to have a place and a place for every thing. and then the day came for me to work on it and it had been a hard and difficult day and I really just needed people to leave me the hell alone (you know you've had days like that too, don't deny it!) so I began placing pockets and matching patterns and 3 and a half hours later I had an awesome work apron. I took a picture with my phone and sent it to Matt and he asked if I was going to put pockets on it or if it was just for covering my clothes. I squeed because he couldn't see the pockets that were on it because the pattern matching was that good (sometimes I'm just awesome like that) I had even added a Flogging Molly patch that I had held onto for several years trying to decide what I wanted to put it on.

And here it is...

You can kind of see the pockets here.

and proof that there are pockets.

And in other news...
I just spilled tea on my skirt pieces, so it will not be completed tonight due to the fact that it some of the pieces will have to dry after being soaked in seltzer. Of course I had to spill it RIGHT ON THE WHITE PANEL! Grrr argh!

leave me some love; I could use it right now and be sure to click Follow if you haven't already.

I'm going to go snuggle a kitty and crochet now.
